She sits quietly on my mind

She is the sunsets shadow
She is the fleeing dream,
She is my own heart yearning
whispering into the wind stories
taking me in the direction of
loving shelter, where broken
wings inside me fly....like a frozen stream
The flowing beauty in thy tears. Only she
can know the beauty written in
my tears, that seek the silent gaze beyond,
Far beneath thy heavens lost
Where I once pale and cold
Beheld thy rarest rose.

Toys from Christmas past

Suzy Homemaker Stove & Oven

Loved this stove. I got this for Christmas in 1967. I put it in the kitchen by my mother, and
would make cakes and cookies as she baked homemade bread. Oh....yum, there was nothing
in the world like my mothers home baked bread! According to my mother, I made the best
cookies around. How I love her, what a beatuiful woman. She was and is my world.

My liddle kiddle
My father made me a house for my liddle kiddles. Russell later wired the house with
lights in every room. It was so cool. My sister and I would play with kiddles for hours
in our basement bedroom, in the Centerville house on the hill.

Here is a story that deeply touched my heart. This family lives in Provo, UT and was recently on Oprah. Stephanie aka Nei Nei was recently involved in a horrible plane crash with her newly certified pilot husband, Christian. Money is being raised to help Nei Nei and her husband through the long recovery process and to help her family care for their 5 beautiful children. Both NeiNei and Christian thankfully survived but were badly burned in an airplane crash. A special blog, http://www.artoflivingonline.com/?p=426 has been created and it’s super easy to donate on this blog. Spread the love!

What is your Color?

Your world is colored in harmonious, peaceful, natural colors.
While some may associate green with money, you are one of the least materialistic people around.
Comfort is important to you. You like to feel as relaxed as possible - and you try to make others feel at ease.
You're very happy with who you are, and it certainly shows!

Your color wheel opposite is red. Every time you feel grounded, a red person does their best to shake you.

Polyvore

love this purse!

love the Daytrip clothing line, it is a mixture of vintage, playful, comfortable, yet fashionable wear.
below is a top from Daytrip

found this cool internet site called Polyvore. They have clothes from every fashion designer living on the face of the planet; you can find any clothes sold at any store in the world on this site! The part I like is when you set up an account, you have the capability of mixing and matching clothes (all of which come with the option to purchase) with other accessories to get exactly the perfect ensemble. Posted below are some sets grouped together by other members that I liked and thought I would share.

My budget will not allow for this all the time, but when I want to pamper myself, I will buy halibut or Mahi and adorn it with all my favorite cut up fruits. It is to die for. I The topping is always different, depending on what is freshest in the produce department.

This dish posted above is fresh wild caught Alaskan halibut. (Robert caught this fresh three days ago on his fishing trip in Alaska)  I dipped the meat in egg, then coated with a mixture of crumbled saltine crackers and breadcrumbs. I topped the fish with a pineapple salsa (from Harmon’s), mixed with a fresh cut up peach and finished with lemon juice, diced almonds, cashews, and raspberries. YUM! I am so darn organic. Everything I buy is organic, including the side of beets which I cooked in a steamer so as not to cook out the nutrition. P.S. The plate is from Rosanna, my favorite designer of plates. Here is a website where Rosanna plates are

Across the Universe

My all time favorite movie musical!!! All based on the Beatles music.
I am sorry, but no one will ever exceed the Beatles. I am so excited for the WOODSTOCK MOVIE that is soon to come to the theaters.

SO PURE, INNOCENT AND WILD

Aha nothing like the sixties. So pure, innocent, and wild! The whole hippie movement and free love thing, such a contradiction to all the norms and values set by society as the sixties was a decade that changed the world. To live at this time was a privilege, an era where the rules were changed and people expressed themselves as Martin Luther King spoke of his desire for blacks and whites to be equal in his famous oration, “I have a Dream” and who can forget John F. Kennedy’s famous inaugural quote: “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”The 60’s was a fabulous time for me as a child as I remember the peace symbol, smiling faces, flower children and oh mercy, loved the fashions. My mother made me the coolest clothes and I had the poof going on with the Sunday hairdo’s . . . can you say help! Then came the legendary BEATLES. I heard this music day in and day out. You could not shop, eat, or sleep without hearing the Beatles music playing somewhere; it truly was a revolutionary time like the famous song, “Revolution” by the Beatles, which was something that the young people of the sixties so completely identified with. The ideals of the sixties was something that created a noticeably kind of fantasy world for the children who sat by in observation and fascination, but the philosophies of the sixties were quite unrealistic in that everyone hoped that we could have a more peaceful and gentle world. However, today we can thank the sixties for giving us more freedom of speech and the rights to stand up to injustice. I try my best to use my civil liberties to campaign and vote for the politicians that will bring change rather than dwelling on the negativities of the past. Let’s keep the spirit of the sixties and make it the reality of the future. LONG LIVE THE 60’s!

Pretty Pattie Boyd

Pretty Pattie

Pattie Boyd was married to George Harrison and later Eric Clapton two of my favorite rock geniuses of the twentieth century. Pattie inspired Harrison’s song, “Something” which is playing on this YouTube along with pics of Pattie Boyd. She was a sixties model and recently wrote one of my favorite books that is a must read for all who love the allure and appeal of the sixties. It is called, “Wonderful Tonight George Harrison, Eric Clapton and Me” author: Pattie Boyd. Simply Delicious!! You won’t be able to set this book down; I read all 307 pages in one sitting on one gorgeous lazy day.

Art Therapy Overview
In art therapy, people create art, and then with their art therapist, process on what they produced. From that simple process, people can increase awareness of themselves, the world around them, cope with life's difficulties, stress, traumatic experiences, and create a climate of change. Art therapy provides non-threatening couple and individual experiences that explore feelings, self-esteem and personal insight. Art allows people to recognize things in themselves by physically seeing them in their art.

This blog is dedicated to those who adore the decadence of evocative art in the personification of the soul, spirit and heart amid the psychological connection to art as a therapeutic creative outlet to envision beauty, and peace with delicacy of observation and appreciation, and intelligent, reasoned lucid admiration.
